Neolithic Revolution

The Neolithic Revolution is the transition from hunting and gathering. It also means the first agricultural revolution, as first adopted by various independent prehistoric human societies, in alot of locations. The first agricultural revolution spurred major social changes, including an increasing population, the organization of a hierarchical society, specialization in non-agricultural crafts, barter and trade, and the expansion of human "control" over nature.

basically the European leaders became convinced that the only way to secure a lasting peace between their countries was to unite them economically and politically. In other words almost all the countries in Europe united. The European Union was an extremly a good thing because it was like all of europe was one big country, and also all the people that were in the European Union can go from country to country with out boarder checks. This will prevent wars from happining because, lets just say that the Russians decide to take over some coutnry in the European Union, Russia will also get jumped by all of the other countries in the European Union.

Film Lesson - " The right stuff "

In the film " The Right Stuff " the Americans and the Russians were competing on how will be the first person ever to reach space. While America heard rumours that the Russians sent a monkey into space America felt really stupid. About a week later America sent up a monkey into space so they can test out the rockets, but then the U.S.S.R sent out a person successfully and then America felt even more stupid. A few years later the Americans sent a man on the moon at the year 1967. One of the scenes that will let me remember the cold war is when the Russian guy was laughing when the launched a man into space.

cuban missile crisis

On October 22, 1962, President John F. Kennedy told the world that the Soviet Union was building secret missile bases in Cuba, about 90 miles off away from Florida. Thirty-five years later, the Cuban Missile Crisis is viewed as one of the "hottest" moments of the Cold War because the 2 countries were so close to start a nuclear war which would mean that they would start attacking each other directly. On October 28 JFK demanded that the Soviet light bombers must be removed from Cuba, and specifying the exact form and conditions of United States assurances not to invade Cuba.

NATO and the Warsaw Pact

The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation is a military alliance established by the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty on April 4, 1949. The organisation established a way of collective security where its member states agree to mutual defence in response to an attack by any external party. The Warsaw Pact is the name given to the treaty between Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and the Soviet Union, which was signed in Poland in 1955 and was officially called ‘The Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation and Mutual Assistance’. The countries that formed these aliances are Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and the Soviet Union. They formed this because the members of the Warsaw Pact pledged to defend each other if one or more of the members were attacked.
