cuban missile crisis

On October 22, 1962, President John F. Kennedy told the world that the Soviet Union was building secret missile bases in Cuba, about 90 miles off away from Florida. Thirty-five years later, the Cuban Missile Crisis is viewed as one of the "hottest" moments of the Cold War because the 2 countries were so close to start a nuclear war which would mean that they would start attacking each other directly. On October 28 JFK demanded that the Soviet light bombers must be removed from Cuba, and specifying the exact form and conditions of United States assurances not to invade Cuba.
